Description: Ensure high quality patient care.
Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor’s office and pretest room.
Understand ocular terminology and diseases and know the ocular abbreviations.
Explain to the patient the types of preliminary examinations.
Perform testing on patients prior to doctor examination.
Perform visual field testing and retinal screenings.
Perform exam pre-screening.
Review prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identifiy special needs.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to learn optical knowledge.
Able to give instruction in a clear and concise manner to patients.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Professional attitude and appearance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced medical facility while adhering to HIPAA compliance regulations.
Strong aptitude with computer software and typing skills.
Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy of the eye.
Must be able to learn examination equipment and instrumentation, operation and maintenance
Ability to display accuracy, positive attitude and be able work well independently.
Previous experience in a medical office is desirable.
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and medical terminology and medication is desirable.
Must be able to understand the daily schedule and anticipate the arrival of patients and be prepared for the needs of each patient
